End of the Weekend :(
Current temperature is 49 degrees. Also, it's raining. I know it's raining because I just got home about an hour ago. There was no place to park because it's raining. I have no idea where all these people came from. Anyway, there was a teensy tiny little parking spot on the street which I squeezed into, which I would not have even attempted if I was not driving a teensy tiny little car.

So this was a pretty busy weekend. Allow me to share the details so that I don't feel as though I am lonely and sad because I didn't share the details with anyone.
Friday was uneventful, work-wise. I went to dinner with Coworker Gail and her niece. I felt mildly uncomfortable in the beginning because a) I am always mildly uncomfortable in social situations with people I don't know, and I had never met Coworker Gail's niece and also b) it turns out that they're both terribly conservative and I'm not, and I sort of felt as though that sort of put a damper on the evening. Not that we had any arguments or anything, because I don't really want to have a political debate anyway and so I just keep my mouth shut, but it sort of felt odd. But overall things went well and the food was delicious. We went to a sushi place not far from my apartment.
So after that I went home and then Saturday morning I got myself stabbed with a needle for work. For insurance and all, they require you to get a blood test so they can collect general company data and also prove that you're not smoking, because if you're not smoking you get $100 off your healthcare costs. So at first they just made people sign a form saying they weren't smoking, but they found out I suppose that people can lie, and so now they make you get a blood test to prove you're not lying.

The stabbing with needles portion went well, the only hiccup was that they hadn't any idea how to take my blood pressure. See, when I go to the doctor's they do it the old fashioned way, but this place apparently uses machines and the machine wasn't working right. So she put it on and squeezed and then turned some knobs and squeezed and tried it again and again and again and then finally I had these red lines on my arm from being squeezed and then she gave up and asked me if I knew what my blood pressure was. I went to the doctor like a few weeks ago and she told me, but I don't remember, so I made up some number and she put that down. Okay.

After that I went to Starbucks for breakfast and then came home and vacuumed the carpet in the bedroom and cleaned it and vacuumed it again and so now there's slightly less cat hair in my bedroom. Slightly. Then I went to my mother's.
Had lunch at mom's, and then went to Starbucks with Brother and then to Target because I wanted gloves because the last time I bought gloves it was at Target and so I figured I could get them again. Well they didn't have them. Instead I bought a bookshelf. Which just barely squeezed into the back of my car. Also was heavy.
Went back to mom's. She decided on Boston Market for dinner for both us and also for Gram and Uncle #2. Uncle #1 (Colorado Uncle) is visiting but wasn't eating dinner because he was going to his 50th high school reunion, which would have food. So Brother and I drove out to Boston Market and got food.
After dinner Brother wanted to get his monthly magazine at Barnes & Noble, so off we went. They had the 2013 calendars out already. Considered buying this one:

One of the things listed on the back is, if your cat gets litter on the ground outside his litter box, it's because he's practicing how to hide bodies. If he watches you while hiding it's because he wants to know your methods so he can ambush you later and take you by surprise. There were a few others listed on the back which were funny. If I go back in December and they're marked down I might buy this.
Then we went to Petsmart because I had a coupon for my cat's cat food and I figured that if I keep feeding him maybe he won't kill me.
Right now he's sitting on the bed next to me so if he wanted me dead I think he could do it quickly, lol. Well, since the bookshelf I bought was super heavy, I needed brother's help to get it in the apartment, so I decided to stay overnight at Mom's so I didn't have to make two extra trips driving down and back to get brother and whatnot.
So this morning I woke up and I think I had breakfast? and then we went to Starbucks and then to my apartment. Set up the bookshelf with only mild difficulty and then stacked some books on it. Then went to Burger King for lunch. Came back to the apartment and started two loads of laundry, including sheets and towels. Then loaded some more books on the shelves and organized some Important Papers into files. Put the laundry in the dryers. Did some other unpacking. Successfully now have no boxes of books in the living room. Woo-hoo!
Then went and got the laundry and folded it and put it away and made the bed and all that jazz. Headed back to mom's stopping (again) at Starbucks because it was cold and raining (off and on) and I wanted something HOT to drink. Soy caramel macchiato (which spell check doesn't recognize
) for me and a hot chocolate with pumpkin spice for brother because I don't want him to have espresso so he's not having a latte. Anyway, that was the highlights of the weekend, after that it was just a quick dinner at mom's and then back home. It's cold and rainy and icky and it's only going to be a high of about 60 all week. I suppose I'll have to look further for new gloves. ::sigh::
Back to the grind tomorrow. Next long weekend is October 26th. Will I make it?

Well, have a good week!
I think my cats are plotting to kill me and they were working together. I was watching the packers and laid on my floor. Kiki jumped on my back and Lua then laid down on my face. It was like one was pinning me down while the other tried to suffocate me.
It was supposed to be much colder here this weekend but we had more cloud cover than originally forecasted.
I spent the weekend indoors. I had plans on cutting the front lawn but scrapped them. Maybe next weekend. Along with cooking a pot of Chili with cornbread. I need another bookcase. And no IKEA nearby...
I keep my mouth shut when people start talking about politics, too. I think people (including myself) tend to assume that the people they like/admire hold the same opinions as themselves. Which I admit makes sense, ish. But, yeah, awkward.
It is surprising how often you go out to eat. I know it is rude to criticize someone else's life style. But you could save hundreds of bucks a month using a microwave and a spice grinder and so forth. It adds up.
It's raining here as well and it's too humid.
@leaflesstree - Don't tell anyone that, or they'll try to convert you! lol. When people try to get me involved in political discussions when I don't necessarily agree with them, I just respond that I hate everyone. Because that's certainly true.
