Here is a Weblog Entry
in which I say nothing of importance but feel the need to share anyway.
It is five minutes to noon, and as soon as I'm done writing this I'm going to pack some overnight stuff and go to my mom's. I may or may not be purchasing a car today. I probably won't be, but it's a distinct possibility, and so I just felt the need to mention that.
The cat is sitting in the corner of the bed, watching something outside my window. Birds, maybe, or possibly not. Often he stares out the window and I can't see anything of interest out there. Of course, his eyes are infinitely better than mine.
So yesterday I went and got a haircut. I'd never been to the salon before so I was a little nervous. Previous to this I had been going all the way back to my parents' - actually, another 20 minutes south of my parents' - for trims. Said hair-trimming lady is really nice and cheap but I had been meaning to find some place closer a while ago. So I googled hair salons and found one in town. There were two online reviews, both positive. The first was from a woman with very thick, wavy hair who said how pleased she was because it was hard to find someone who knew what they were doing with that. I have very thick, curly hair. I figured this was a good sign, so I made the appointment.
It took about an hour. They washed my hair and then she cut it and blow dried it and cut it some more and then straightened it, which was probably the part that took the longest, and at the end it looked freakin' amazing. I haven't washed it yet or done anything other than run a brush through it because I'm going to mom's and I want to see if she notices I got a haircut or if she just thinks I straightened it myself. She probably won't notice.
Anyway, after it's washed and I wear it curly again on Monday to work we'll see if anyone notices that either. Probably not. Since I don't usually wear my hair down when it's getting to the terrible-split-ends stage (which it was) it's hard to tell how long it is or not, and thus no one notices if I get a haircut.
So after that I went to Starbucks for caffeine and then I went to Joann Fabrics and bought some oil pastels and watercolors because I am tired of drawing everything with colored pencils and want to branch out. I then went to Macy's because I saw they were having a sale Friday and Saturday. It was basically 25% off and I spent too much money but oh well. I got a gray skirt which I have wanted a gray skirt for a while and not found one I liked. Also a red short-sleeved sweater and a gray, long-sleeved cardigan type thing with lacy ruffly edges. Pretty. :)
Then I went home and had microwave pizza for lunch. Drew with my pastels. The cat took a nap on the bed while I was drawing. SO CUTE! He just curled up into a little ball right near me and slept and it was so adorable. Then I put away the pastels and got out my laptop and he woke up, stretched, and then went back to sleep.
Oh right, also I did some laundry yesterday and vacuumed my living room. Then I used this thing I bought on Thursday at the supermarket. It's this Resolve Carpet Cleaner dispenser thingie. You spray the stuff on the rug and then use this brush thingie to brush it in. Then wait, and vacuum again. Yah, there was a LOT of hair on my living room carpet. The bristles of the brush were packed. Some of it was mine, some of it was the cat's and some of it had probably been there since my last apartment.

I didn't do all of it, just a small section. Not only does it look better, but it also smells nice and clean. So I shall repeat this process in my bedroom, where there is a lot of cat hair and my hair even though I try to vacuum fairly regularly. Squirt isn't even a long-haired cat, but he was shedding a lot in the summer. Seems to have slacked off a bit now that it's getting cooler.
Then in the evening I went to Starbucks again and did my usual writing. I like how I am actually making progress with the writing. I might actually find an end to the story eventually, and then I can go back to the beginning - once I decide on what the beginning is - and start with the editing. But that's a long way off.
Anyway.
Now I'm going to clean out the litter box and make sure Squirt has plenty of food and water for the evening. Then I'm going to take out the garbage and mail my bills and go to my mom's. I'll have lunch there, and then we're going to go to the Chevy dealer to talk money and cars. Whee. I'm going to spend the night at Mom's and then Brother and I will come back to the apartment tomorrow for more fun and adventures.
Yay for new cars.
Yay for kitty cats.
Yay for clean carpets, and haircuts I like, and nice weather (so far) this weekend.
You may have noticed that I'm in a pretty good mood.
Later, folks. :)
