  • the opposite of an update...

    ...is a down date?

I feel obligated this evening to write a blog here even though I have nothing to say. I feel obligated to provide to my billions of dedicated readers an update on my life, even though there has been no update and also those billions of readers are all in my own head.

    Ha.

The big news today is that I went to the gym, which I have not been in like a month? No, it was just before Labor Day so only about two weeks. Okay, now I feel better. Anyway, went to the gym and listened to Trans-Siberian Orchestra of all things. Hey, it is very vibrant and energetic music! No, I am not wishing for winter. Blech. It has been only in the 50s (48 one day) in the mornings and I wore socks one day. Socks. Blech again.

Anyway I never did get around to making myself a workout music playlist so maybe I should get on that.

On Sunday I think I banged my left hand into a table and it hurt. Ow. First only my fingers - middle & ring - hurt, but then the rest of the hand hurt and now sometimes the whole arm hurts and then because of that I am using my right hand more and so now carpal tunnel type things ow. It is annoying me because while it is certainly faster to type and do other keyboard related actions with my normal method, it is less comfortable. I am normally a very fast typer. I took word processing in high school and actually learned what I was taught.

I have also remembered it, so I am a very fast and accurate typer who does not have to look at the keyboard at all while typing I can just look out the window oh it is dark and there's nothing to see while still typing la de dah. But I am not good at following those rules of posture and I do a lot of typing not just for work (and before that school) but also for my own personal fun times. So by the time I am 80 I will not be able to move my hands at all.

In other news, Matt bought a car. He told Kathy last week he wanted to buy a luxury car because he wanted a luxury car and so even though his Hyundai is only 3.5 years old, he traded it in and bought a Chrysler 300 with all the bells and whistles. Remote keyless entry, remote start, push-button start (my mom's cousin had that and left the car running a few times while going to church so I warned him to make sure he turns it off before going to work), heated & cooling seats, heated and cooling cupholders. etc, etc.

But wait, there's more, as the infomercials say. His wife also decided to get a new car and so she got a new Dodge Charger with all the bells and whistles. Funny thing is that Matt got his car on Saturday, but her car wasn't ready, apparently the dealer didn't have what she wanted in stock and it had to be delivered from elsewhere. So she was still driving her (relatively new) old car. Well then they called on Tuesday and said that they still didn't have the Charger, but they did have a buyer for her car. So they drove her car back and she traded it in for his old car, which she then drove for a day until finally yesterday they got her car.

Every evening, I have grand plans for how to spend my time when I get home. I will cook a grand gourmet meal, play with the cat, take a luxurious shower, read a novel, have a scintillating conversation with some Random OK Cupid personage, write a novel, play some games, draw some drawings, watch intelligent and interesting television, do some household chores, and still get to bed early.

This evening, I went to the gym, then returned home to feed the cat. I then ate some microwave pizza and a Skinny Cow ice cream cone while watching first Jeopardy! (disappointment: Lewis Black is horrid at the game, the other two guys I never heard of), and then drew some whilst watching a moose documentary I'd already seen (and so was only half-paying attention to). I played some on my phone, then began to write this blog before being interrupted by a phone call from my brother. I still need to take a shower. I played with the cat a bit while talking to my brother.

It's already 9 PM. No time to write a novel or have scintillating conversation, although perhaps I might make a dent in the novel I am reading which I have already renewed twice from the library which I just got an email reminding me is due back Saturday. But unlikely because now I am on the computer which means I am going to browse some of the interwebs before remembering, Oh crap, I need to shower especially since I exercised today.

    Sigh. TGIF, man.

Next weekend I have a nice loooong weekend because I have Thursday and Friday off. I had originally scheduled a Doctor's appointment for 9/27, but they called and said I needed to reschedule because the doctor is away that week. Same thing happened when I made my July appointment. Doc apparently does not make her vacation plans three months in advance. Anyway, I rescheduled for 9/20 and then I figured why take off just Thursday, and then go to work on Friday? So it's a nice looooong weekend. Whee.

So, a nice short week next week, and this week is nearly over. Life is okay.

That is enough babbles for now. I am off to do...something...and then shower. Aren't you jealous of my life?
