Well Hullo there
It seems I shall not be able to post the remained of my Maine photos or anything else until next month. I didn't know there was a limit to uploading because I've never gotten to it before. Ha. Am too cheap/lazy to pay for premium. Even though I'm sure it's cheap. I just don't feel like it. I'm old school internet and think things should be free. So there.

Anyway.
I'm feeling kind of unmotivated lately. Lazy, somewhat disinterested in or frustrated with life. In case you couldn't tell from my last post, which was all about the whiny complaints.
I'm annoyed with my job and I'm annoyed with myself for continuing to go to work despite the fact that I'm annoyed with it.I feel like I should be doing some cleaning or something but I'm far too lazy. I meant to do laundry last weekend but never got to it. Thankfully I had enough clean clothes that I had washed before going on vacation that I made it through the week without having to go to work naked. Which would have been awkward.
But anyway I really really should do laundry this weekend. Also towels and sheets. I'm thinking about taking those to Mum's tomorrow afternoon because I'm not again doing laundry on Saturday here in the complex. I managed to vacuum during the week, but only in the parts of the apartment that aren't the bedroom, and the bedroom has the most cat hair.

Also, there are still stacks of unpacked boxes in the bedroom. So I believe my goal this weekend will be to unpack one or two of them. Even though I know at least some of them are filled with clothes that I don't feel like washing. Sigh.
In other news, I am working again on my Untitled Dragon Story, so perhaps I shall post some of it tomorrow if anyone cares? I started to write some things whilst on vacation and realized that I didn't have a clear enough map of the place in my head, so I went searching for the map I had drawn, which I then couldn't find. Turns out I shared it a bazillion years ago on Xanga, but I don't know what I did with the actual file, since I couldn't find it on the computer.
Well, I redrew the map once home, and then decided that it needed a few more places and then those places needed some people. I've been reading the Game of Thrones series lately, which is just filled to the brim with ancillary characters that aren't really important, but get tossed out periodically enough that I think the author really did plan out a thousand family trees of history. Just when you think you have a handle on who's who, they mention some family of some place that you've never heard of, but the character has. Also, each family has a symbol that they have on their shields or their banners or whatnot.
So I'm too lazy to come up with a symbol for every family and in any case (as I believe I mentioned once before when I was considering methods of communication [re: the ravens in that series]) I don't want to have this story be thought of as a copycat. Because it's not - I started it long before I'd heard of Game of Thrones, but there has been some influence, obviously, since it's the same sort of middle-ages sort of universe that's not real. I have more dragons, so far, though. (I'm only up to halfway through the fourth book, so I dunno if more appear later).
But anyway I had already had the vague idea of having colors for each family. A few days ago I started trying to come up with family trees, which was terribly complex insane because there is naturally intermarriage between the noble families and all that jazz. So I started today on a spreadsheet, which annoys me because I work on spreadsheets enough whilst I am working (especially this week) and because working in Excel on my laptop is annoying. Because it's a Mac and I've learned from using Word that MS programs don't work as well on Apple products as you might like them to. At least Word does not on either of the laptops I've owned.
But I like Word enough that I actually purchased the damn program to have it. I'm used to it and everything is in that format so that's why. And when I bought Office it came with Excel even though at the time I didn't have the slightest damned idea about how to use Excel. One thing I can say I have learned from my job which might be a useful skill in life is Excel. When I started I didn't have the faintest idea what to do and now I am somehow the person that everyone in my department comes to for Excel advice. I still have no use for it in my personal life, though.
Where was I? Oh yes, so I am making a spreadsheet, and then I decided that the different places would each have a pair of colors and I had already had the idea that the King should be Gold and Sapphire and then I realized that Sapphire is a gem (I am smrt...I mean SMART) and so I decided that each house would have a gem and a color. And then I decided to use the gemstones of the zodiac as the gems. Except I (so far) only have eleven families, so Opal is left out.
But that's that. And I should probably get back to writing more of this thing if I ever want to finish.
In other news, I got two peaches and a nectarine at work yesterday because some guy was giving them out as we walked in the building. I ate (part of) one of the peaches last night and it was horrible, but I ate the nectarine today and it was much better - way more juicy. I am hoping that having the second peach sit for a day or two will soften and juicy it up more. I like peaches, but the few times I have bought them this year at the store they were not that great. I was telling Kathy and she said to let them sit, because obviously they pick them early.
I believe I shall go and do some drawings and such now. And then commence my weekend. Hope yours is pleasant.

Your story idea sounds neat :) Don't worry, I dished out $130 to get MS Office 2010 for school-related purposes, but I needed it regardless. I love peaches :3 They are one of my favorite fruits.
If you can't whine/vent here, it will mess you up. Trust me on this. Yeah, it's best to keep up on things. Maybe some day soon, some one will gift you a year of premium service... Start out small and sooner than later the job will get done... Unpacking that is.
I still don't have a map for my world :/
I am surrounded by no one who knows Excel, fortunately I am not asked to help teach it either.
Supposedly if there is a farmer's market you can get peaches and nectarines that are close to freshness. Unfortunately you can't buy too much or they will spoil.
@xdeelynnx - I think I got the student version, I forget. It was a few years back (it's the 2007 version) but it was probably about the same price. Also came with power point which I have almost no use for at work - I've made a grand total of TWO presentations - and have no use for at home, so I didn't bother to install. Before that, I used powerpoint ONCE in school, in a class in which we learned how to use power point. :P
@Zoz36 - I could probably buy myself premium service, I don't think it's that expensive. But I'm lazy. :P Yeah, there were things at my old apartment that I never did get around to unpacking, lol.
@PPhilip - I was fortunate in that one of my former coworkers was a total Excel wizard, and I am a fast/decent learner, so I learned a lot from her and then when she left everyone started to come to me. Yes, Coworker Kathy often gets really good peaches and such at the farmer's market, and my mom often gets good vegetables there. I should eat more fruits and vegetables.
@leaflesstree - I'm lazy and procrastinate. And easily distracted. So I try to stay in a routine. Otherwise it's uncrontrolled chaos.
You could upload your pics to like Facebook or something and link them here.
so should I read the Game of Thrones books first or watch the TV series first?
Please please say something about Squirt. You know that's the main reason many of us read your blog.
@Rob_of_the_Sky - hmm, I could.
@godfatherofgreenbay - I would definitely watch the first season - or at least part of it - first. The book is not as dense as some other epic fantasy like Lord of the Rings or whatnot, but it can be a little bit confusing. The first season follows the book almost exactly, and then you'll be able to picture the characters without getting them mixed up while you're reading. The second season veers off from the book a bit more, and the third season is apparently only going to be half of book three.
I came in in the middle of season 2 and watched it, slowly comprehending but still mostly lost, then went back and watched season 1 (the whole time going, "Oh! so that's why!" I don't recommend that method.
@we_deny_everything - I knew it! My cat is more popular than I am. Squirt is good. He has been slightly more affectionate since I returned from vacation. Right now he is lounging on the scratching pad thingie I got him, just chilling.
@we_deny_everything - I think I can help you with that...
