babbles and other drivel
Good news, everyone!
It's now Thursday night, which means it is shortly to be Friday morning, which is the last day of the week, and the last day of work before my vacation.
Yay.
Trip to the Kmart was a successful mission. I purchased a number of things including new underwear (not that I really needed that but it was there so I did), a pair of capris, and also a set of pajamas. There are shorts with multi colored girly stripes and there is a t-shirt with a butterfly that says Live, Love, Dream. It's not a HUGE t-shirt but it'll do. Not sure how cold it will be for sleeping so I will bring pajama pants and these shorts.
They had this one awesome shirt which had a picture of a cow and said "MOO" which I thought was awesome. But it came with fleece shorts. Fleece shorts. Fleece shorts.
So, fleece is a thing that keeps you warm. And shorts are a thing that keep you cool.
Why were they put together?!
There were a number of pajama sets in that fashion, mostly in the more juniors section of the pajamas. Which might give me my answer, since Juniors clothes are weird.

Or maybe I'm old and out of touch with pajama fashions these days.
Anywho.
Work today was also okay. Some things happened and some other things happened and I almost fell asleep at my desk because I was watching the spinny thing and also I was tired.
I am almost caught up on emails, which is nice. I hate having things to do on my to do list. :P
So after work I went to Kmart and then Gail came over to the apartment to try to meet Squirt. He was much more friendly this time than the last time she was over. I coaxed him out from under the bed and after a short initial period of nervousness he came over to her and then she dangled the feathery thingie that he likes to chase, so I think that probably helped to loosen him up. I showed her where the food and such is kept and all that and then we stood a bit talking and complaining about our Coworkers. I gave her the spare keys and we verified that they worked in the doors and which keys to use where and now I'm pretty sure that Squirt might be a little less mad at me when I return.

Then Brother called so I suggested to him the thought about the board games to play in the evening, and he was quite happy about the idea of clue. So yay.
So here is the Xanga plan for the next few days in case you were dying to know (I'm sure you were).
Tomorrow is Friday which means a playlist and I think I'll do one on vacations since that's what on my mind. Of course I've only got one song in my head right now but that's usually how playlist ideas start until I start them.
I really want to post a few more bits of "art" and such so I think I might do that on Saturday before I go. Then, I am not likely to post a decent-length blog for about a week, though don't be surprised if you see a few pulses about murder via my phone. Take no notice of the violence, I assure you that it is all in jest.

Things to do Saturday (other than blogging) are packing and maybe stopping at a store because I see that I have nearly filled my latest sketchbook and that would be a bad thing to be without whilst vacationing in the midst of nowhere. Brother does not need a new edition of his magazine because the most recent issue was July and August, but I suggested that maybe he might want to get something else to read? and also as I mentioned previously I want to see about Maps, so thus Bookstore.
And then Sunday AM it will be perhaps my last dose of Starbucks for a week.

There needs to be a sobbing emoticon. "Bummed" does not accurately express my feelings on the idea of being Starbucks-free for a week. I might even have to break down and get something at ::gasp:: Dunkin Donuts. ::shudder:: Once we arrive, we intend to do some grocery shopping, and I intend to purchase one of those 4-packs of iced coffee frap thingies, which are not as good as the real thing but will do for a caffeine fix. The nearest Starbucks to the cabin is a mere 26 miles away.
::sobbing::
Soon as we return to civilization I shall demand we halt at a rest-stop with such first-world amenities. I will have my birthday whilst away. How can I have my birthday without Starbucks? Ugh.
That reminds me that I need to remember to buy Tylenol or the generic equivalent before we depart. Been having headaches lately and I'm sure lack of caffeine (and increase of Loud Brother and his arguing with Dad in the AMs) will only increase their frequency.
Anyway. FRIDAY doth approach. Woo-hoo.

sweet I've been missing the playlists
So for your birthday, did you make virgo or are you a Leo? Hurray for other options instead of going to Starbucks.
I am sure it is a needed vacation. Family bonding is good, having a person check on Squirt, Check! And having a blast is always good to do for a vacation.
a birthday??? how cool is that. do we know when it is? we need to know when it is. i surely think we do.
oh, playlist cool. and art. i'll make sure to get to starbucks this week for you. ;) and you put your toes in vacation for me.
Of course a photo of you wearing all of your purchases is missing !!

Love
Michel
lol at the fleese shorts thing. I do wonder what designers are thinking sometimes.
Playlist idea: "Going Down to Liverpool" by the Bangles. "to do nothing all the days of my life..." I used to sing it with the words "Up to Mackinac." even though I haven't vacationed there in a while.
@godfatherofgreenbay - yay! :)
@promisesunshine - Birthday is Tuesday. :) Drink plenty of Starbucks this week. They have treat receipts again, so if you buy something in the morning, you can get a grande cold beverage in the afternoon for only $2. (PS, no I don't work for their advertising department)
@DMMeyer - I really think that clothing designers live in an alternate reality. I mean, really. :P
I had never heard that Bangles song before that I can recall. Also, the video has Leonard Nimoy. I like him. :)
I dunno, I could maybe wear fleece shorts. They sound soft and comfy, but not warm, which would be perfect in the winter because it makes you feel really snuggly because you're soft and comfy but still need to snuggle under a blanket to get warm. Fleece shorts exist for psychological reasons, not because they physically make sense.
