Squirt, or Many Photos
...or "my own personal caturday."
:)
Picked up the kitty without incident today. Brother wished to go with me, but I was reluctant, because then I would have had to not only drive him home but then also drive myself back to the apartment afterward. I've done enough driving the last few days, didn't feel like doing all that again. But then Dad said he would drive up and get Brother, so thus he did come along. Which was good because I had enough to carry.
Here are most of the Squirt photos I've taken so far. Some of them are blurry, or remarkably similar to other photos. Perhaps I will add humorous captions later?

(he jumped into the wardrobe thingie. Didn't expect that!)

Hope you had a great weekend, and thanks for all the cat advice, everyone!

: ) I hope you two get along well!
sweet photos of a pretty kitty
aww that's great, I hope he gets used to your surroundings so he'll come out and play. It took my cats a while for adjustment. Kiki hid behind my stereo for a few days but once I turned off lights she came out and explored.
@lanney - so far we are doing good! :)
@Babyboomerjill - thanks, I know, he's so pretty, isn't he?
@xdeelynnx - I agree! :)
@godfatherofgreenbay - he hid under the bed for a bit, but when I hold out my hand or call to him he comes out. For the first few days I'm just going to keep him in the bedroom and then introduce him to the rest of the house so he doesn't get overwhelmed. I also have a cardboard box that he seems to like to hide behind.
he's a sweetie. if he's already coming out to you, you two are going to be just fine. my "mature" cats still jump into stuff (like wardrobe thingies)
You can expect him to jump into every drawer and bookshelf he can find. Cats are curious.
Looks like he found his new bed.
@leaflesstree - he's handsome
You should teach squirt to fold laundry. That way when he is relaxing on that shelf he could earn his keep.
@promisesunshine - He seems to be willing to come out as long as I play with him and pet him. Then he explores. But while I sit here on the computer as I am now, he's content to lie still and quiet.
@we_deny_everything - I suppose I shouldn't have been really surprised, since he did seem interested in the open doors. But I guess I will need to keep it closed unless I want all my clothes covered with cat hair. :)
@Rob_of_the_Sky - yup.
@amateurprose - Ha, if you find a way to teach that, you'll be rich!
@leaflesstree - A cat will usually sleep 12 hours a day. Did they tell you that? It makes caring for him easy.
@we_deny_everything - Yup. The book says up to 18 hours a day, even. This is good because he'll probably sleep while I'm at work and be awake while I'm trying to sleep.
super cute!! love the name too! i used to have a cat named sassy tht looked just like him!
I left my cats on the first floor for the first month or so I had them. Then once they got used to that then I opened the upstairs. They are frustrating me tonight. One is acting all mopey and sick and the other is hyperactive.
Squirt (love the name) is gorgeous. He will investigate every little corner to figure out his domain. If he is coming out to play, the two of you are already good. Enjoy... I think it's time to get one for my new place. I do miss my kitties..
congrats leafless! enjoy!
I love it! I can't handle it!
Dear Turquoise,
I used to blog that "cats don't pose." If a camera weren't around, they might do amazing things. When I'd take photos, however, the suckers would freeze up,.
Don't be surprised at finding Squirt anywhere you don't expect. wardrobe=cat paradise.
